About the Firecracker Mile

THE FIRECRACKER MILE is run on the newly-paved straight, legally-flat, five-lane-wide 14 Mile Road, immediately before Clawson’s Annual 4th of July Day Parade.

WHEN
Registration runs from 7:45am-8:45am on Monday July 5, 2010. Race starts at 9:00am. Arrive early, 14 Mile Rd. will close about 8:30am.

WHERE
14 Mile at Crooks– 2 1/2 miles West of I-75. Registration area is located on South side of 14 Mile East of Crooks. Restrooms available.

Runners Note: The former parking lot used for the Firecracker Mile is now a construction site! Arrangements were made for runners to park in the Kyoto Restaurant lot just West of Crooks Rd. at 1824 14 W. Mile rd. Also, Runners may also park behind the Red Olive Restaurant at 1212 W. 14 Mile Rd.

Also, the location of Registration Area has been moved to the North of 14mile Rd in the corner of the CVS parking lot. Please be courteous to the folks who are allowing us to use their facilities.

COURSE
Starting line is just East of Crooks. Race follows 14 Mile from West to
East on all available lanes for certified distance.

TIMES
Splits read at each quarter mile. Official finish times provided for first
five men and women. Large digital clock will display finish times while PA system announces times.

PREMIUM
Striking Firecracker Mile graphic T-shirt for all entrants.

AWARDS

• $1,000 for Men’s Sub-4:00 1st, OR $300 to 1st Man.
• $1,000 Women’s Sub-4:30 1st OR $300 to 1st Woman.
• $140 to 2nd Man and 2nd Woman,
• $60 for 3rd Man and 3rd Woman.
• Medals to top 50 men and 50 women.
• Trophies to top five Men and top five Women.
